These are statements that we hear all the time. I am here to set the record straight… Juvéderm facial fillers help to enhance, restore or hydrate your features.
As we age our faces lose hyaluronic acid which causes our skin to sag or loss volume. Guess what Juvéderm is made of? You guessed it; it is made up of hyaluronic acid!
Juvéderm works by adding volume to the facial tissue through its active ingredient, hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body. It stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps the skin (collagen).
Think of it this way, your skin is like a tomato. Over time it sags, loses volume and will eventually even wrinkle. Our faces are no different and Juvederm is a non-invasive way to refill or replenish our faces back to its youthful self.
Juvéderm will also prevent wrinkle development over time.
What areas can Juvéderm be injected?
Cheeks – in addition to wrinkles, a telltale sign of aging is lost volume in the cheeks. Restoring the cheeks will not only boost your confidence but it will add cheek volume which provides a fuller, more youthful contour to the face.
Nasolabial folds or “parenthesis” lines- lines that appear between the mouth and the nose when you are not smiling.
Lips- some people may find their lip “thins” as they age or just want to add more volume or lift to their lips with Juvéderm.
What can I expect?
A brief meeting with our medical director who will give you the directive for the Injectables.
A thorough consultation with one of our Nurses to go over your goals and meet your needs. A treatment plan can be made if you aren’t ready for the injection at the first appointment. You may choose to space out the number of syringes or areas over multiple appointments. Be sure your expectations are clear and attainable.
Marking and mapping on the area that will be injected.
A topical numbing cream is applied to the areas before injecting. This will make the procedure more comfortable.
Our talented nurses use a thin needle to inject the Juvéderm under the skin and there is very little discomfort.
You will see the results instantly!
This appointment takes about 60-90min depending on the area treated.
Juvéderm lasts approximately about 12-18 months.
